Soon we will distribute checks to all eleven of our projects for 2016-17. A heartfelt thank you to the Rotarians who contributed more funds than we had available to make all these projects a reality, especially to one particular Rotarian who made up the big difference in a most generous gesture of confidence in the work that our club does.
World Polio Day is October 24. We want to come up with some kind of fundraising activity in October, where our club can make a donation toward the ongoing effort to eradicate the wild polio virus from the face of the earth. Now it exists only in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Nigeria (2 recent cases). If any club members have an idea about raising funds for this effort, please let me know.
