San Juan Rotary held a joint meeting with the Rotary Club of Santurce to hear guest speaker, Manuel Cidre give his talk entitled, “For the Country we Deserve”. Manuel is an independent candidate for Governor of Puerto Rico. He began by stating how the more than 50 years of partisanship have brought us to a great fiscal and social crisis. He feels that the country is ready for a transformation to take us to great heights. He has put together an Ethical Pact that includes respect and austerity for political campaigns, true democracy for all - elimination of privileges, transparent control of spending, and economic growth. Our speaker’s enthusiastic presentation received wide participation during the question and answer period. Thanks to President Ray for bringing us this interesting program.
