The time is coming when club members will submit and pitch community service projects which will be carried out in the coming Rotary year, if they win the votes.
Projects should be hands-on whenever possible, so that we can join in and serve our local community.
Do you have an idea for a worthwhile local project? Think about it, get some friends to sign on, and soon the paperwork will be available.
Rebecca Sumner-Burgos, Director for Development and Alumni Relations at Robinson School was inducted at last Tuesday's meeting. Rebecca was sponsored by Troy Fields.
To assist filmmaker, Pheng Tang, a member of the Rotary Club of Madrugadores, Philadelphia PA, who will be in Puerto Rico from April 27 through May 14 working on a documentary on people who grow and produce their own food. He needs volunteers to help translate his interviews.
Our guest speaker, Alfred D. Herger, PH.D., is recognized as one of Puerto Rico's cultural heroes. As originator and leader of the Nueva Ola music revolution of the 60's and 70's, he helped the careers of many young singers of the times, i.e. Chucho Avellanet, Lucecita, Ednita Nazario, to name a few. Our speaker retired from radio and TV to dedicate himself fully to his career as a Psychologist. In addition to his private practice, he is one of Puerto Rico's most popular motivational speakers and best selling authors. Dr. Herger's talk, Re-Inventing Yourself, literally had Rotarians standing on their feet. Thanks to Sherman Wildman and Warwick Butler for bringing us this dynamic speaker.
