Only sixteen of our club's members have not yet achieved Paul Harris Fellowship.
During the month of September you'll be contacted to work out a special deal with Hector to make sure you get your first Paul Harris recognition before the end of this year.
This is because we have set a goal to make our club a 100% Paul Harris Club by the time the President of Rotary International comes to Puerto Rico in February.
We can do it by using a combination of cash and points, and we have lots of points to share.
This goal is part of the run-up to our 100 year Club Anniversary in 2017-18.
Inducted on Tuesday was JOCELYN JAVERNICK, (Environmental Services: Water Conservation), CEO of Uviation, LLC. Jocelyn was sponsored by John Richardson.
Rotarian Gerry Cumpiano reminds us of the direct from Carnegie Hall Flamenco Musical, Tribute to a Poet on September 17, at 8:00 pm. A presentation of Pro Arte, tickets can be secured at Bellas Artes and from Gerry.
Attorney and legal analyst, John Mudd, has studied. discussed and written on the Puerto Rico Debt Crisis from both a financial and legal points of view. He was the first analyst on the island to raise the probability of a Congressional imposed Financial Control Board on his blog and on radio. Our speaker gave an overview of what PROMESA does and what it doesn't do. One important fact. There is no economic development included. Attorney Mudd then gave sketches of the various members comprising the Task Force. Over all, his impression is that the Board will be a positive force for the island. Thanks to Program Chairman, Sherman Wildman, for this most timely and interesting speaker..
