Speaker: Nannette Rosa, President of Richart Chocolates will tell us about the history of cocoa. An appropriate theme for our traditional Valentine Luncheon with spouses and guests!
Dr. Julio Fontanet, Dean of Inter-American University School of Law and professor of courses in Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Humanitarian Law and Evidence was our guest speaker. His academic background includes degrees from Madrid, U of Chicago and IAU. He spoke on the new Inter-American University program, "The Juris Doctor Law Degree in English." Geared to promote diversity by attracting minority and lower income students, the total cost of the degree will be $45,000 as opposed to the $200,000 average cost of a law degree on the mainland. The degree will be recognized in the U.S. and will enhance inclusion in the legal profession by those not adequately represented . Inducted into San Juan Rotary last Tuesday was Maria de los Angeles Rivera, (Accounting: Tax). Maria is the Tax Partner at Kevane Grant Thornton. She was sponsored by Troy Fields.

If no objections are raised by February 16, 2015, the candidates will be scheduled for orientation. The final decision rests with the Board of Directors.
At the February Board meeting, the Directors voted to promote membership among the 35 and younger prospective candidates by offering the following incentives: Reducing the Initiation Fee from $250 to $150 and the Annual Dues from $300 to $180.
