Our San Juan Rotary luncheon meeting this week took place at El Hogar Del Buen Pastor in Puerta de Tierra. We had the opportunity to see the facilities and the workshops they have created as part of the up to two-year rehabilitation process for homeless, most of whom are suffering from addictions. We had a great dialogue with Tere Beard on the new technologies they are utilizing and the vision of expanding this service to the general public in an expanded space she would like to develop. Those who attended were highly impressed with this organizations’s holistic services for a population that we were surprised to hear includes attorneys, doctors, and businesspersons.
