Dear Rotarians,
As we begin a new Rotary year, I want to give thanks to my Club Administration Committee members who helped out throughout the year. These are Frank Earl, Gerry Cumpiano, Andy Whallon, Sal Nolfo, Joe Sampson, Carmen Hammer, Jean Corneliuos, and whenever possible Maria de los Angeles Rivera, Delia Colorado, Raymond Erb and Annie Evans. These are the people who gave me a hand setting up the sound system, monitoring registration desk and giving invocations. Although she is not in our club, she is a special thanks to Awilda Leduc who helped with flower arrangements on several occasions. I hope to continue counting on these Rotarians for 2025-2026 Rotary year and I welcome anyone who wants to volunteer. A sign-up sheet will be circulated in our next meeting which will be on August 6th at AFDA club. The AFDA club will be closed to the public for the next two weeks. I just came back from Rotary Convention and a wonderful relaxing cruise to Alaska. Enjoy your summer vacation wherever you are!
Yesterday’s Change of Command ceremony was a memorable and inspiring moment for our Rotary Club of San Juan. Surrounded by fellow Rotarians, friends, and honored guests, I had the privilege of being sworn in as President by our new District Governor, Luz Myriam Ortiz, who also administered the oath of office to our incoming officers and directors. It was a ceremony filled with tradition and purpose—from the symbolic passing of the gavel to the heartfelt words shared about unity and service. Our theme for this year, “United For Good,” reflects our commitment to work together to create meaningful impact in our community. I am deeply grateful for the trust placed in me and look forward to serving alongside such a dedicated team to make this a year of growth, service, and fellowship.
