Past President Juanita Morris accepted San Juan Rotary's $2500 check for the YWCA's damages to its building. Among its many community activities, the YWCA is an after school learning center for students from the surrounding area.

We heard from Sam Bloch, Director of Communitiere, a San Francisco based organization active world wide that responds and brings relief to disasters stricken areas.

Motivational speaker, Jose Ismael Irizarry, gave a spirited talk on how effective mediation is as opposed to medication. Especially in these trying times, we have to shift gears and adjust as the quality of our thought equals the quality of our life.

A 20-minute meditation session can relieve anxiety and depression.
