Dear Rotarians, On Tuesday we will meet at San Patricio Plaza, Liberty Square, at noon. Our host will be John Regis who will treat us to hot potatoes and pizza. While there we will visit El Buen Pastor’s Joy thrift shop and Fundacion Estefano. Both are nonprofit that we have donated funds to. We look forward to seeing many of you at this fellowship meeting. Hector Sanchez, the Rotary Polio+ District head, gave an interesting presentation with photos of his trip to India with his wife Ivonne (next year’s Rotary Polio+ District head) and Juanita Morris, to experience the polio vaccination process and many other social programs the Rotary clubs in India are undertaking in four different cities and villages. The incredible gratitude of the mothers whose children were being vaccinated and those many others being helped by Rotary was very self-satisfying. Ivonne explained that the goal is for each Rotary club in the District to raise at lease $1,500 either via individual or club donations and Hector explained how individuals can become members of the Polio Plus Society via an annual donation of $100 or more through the donation link in My Rotary. Various members of our Club were given certificate of recognition as Polio + members for fiscal year 2024-25 to various of our club members.
