Last Tuesday we had as our guest our new District Governor, Roberto Velez. Among other things, he discussed the importance of getting new club members. We should all participate more in our activities and try to interest our friends to join our Rotary Club. We will get you the information that will help you to convince them.

On his Official Visit to San Juan Rotary, 2021-2022 District 7000 Governor, Roberto Velez Medina, gave an inspiring talk with emphasis on how Rotary wants to change to avoid membership decline. When we invite new members to join, we should stress as incentives the opportunity of gaining new friendships, working with our service projects, and networking with other businesspeople. Governor Roberto, from Humacao, is a CPA and a lawyer. One of his many positions in Rotary District 7000, was as Assistant to our Past DG & President of San Juan Rotary, Juanita Valentin Morris. Our speaker noted our Club's generous contributions to The Rotary Foundation, the spinal cord of Rotary International, that literally sews Rotary together. Those funds we contribute to The Foundation, come back to us in the form of helping to finance our Community Service Projects. Introduced by Past President & Assistant to the DG for Zone 1, Gerry Cumpiano, Roberto fielded a number of questions from the virtual audience. He hopes to be re-visiting us soon, especially if we have a special event.
