Antonio Morales, who brought the arts to the youngsters in the caserios and barrios through his project, Teatro por Amor, began his talk by thanking San Juan Rotary for all its help, financially and emotionally, over many years. Recently appointed Director of the Department of Arts and Culture for the City of San Juan, Antonio has ambitious goals for his new and greatly appreciated position.  He said the arts saved his life and Rotary was a large part of it.  Creating a library in Llorens Torres, sponsoring dance and theatre, to name just a few of the projects that helped kids make a difference in their lives.  He will always remember those Rotarians who went the extra mile for the underserved young people, naming Bob Bolte, Gerry Cumpiano, Juanita Morris & John Richardson, in particular.  A heart-warming narrative of a boy from public housing, becoming the head of a public service government agency.
