SJR Thanksgiving Event a Smash as Usual
SAN JUAN ROTARY can chalk up another successful Annual Thanksgiving celebration with great press coverage, dedicated Rotary and community volunteers, super entertainment including former Rotarian Juan Carlos Garcia, happy children and seniors, and of course great food.
Critical to the success of this yearly holiday party is the assistance of the volunteers and this year we set a new record-- under the leadership of Jose Irras--
of 17.5 minutes to serve more than 625 meals to the attendees. We also enjoyed the company of the Rotary District Governor as well as the Acting Governor of Puerto Rico.
Kudos to
the Marriott and all of the people who donated money, helium gas
for the balloons, ice cream, soda and candy, and the Walmart donation to buy gifts. As always, a special thanks goes out to Linde de Puerto Rico, Sterling Merchandise, IRI de Puerto Rico, U.S. Coast Guard, Walmart, UPR Airforce ROTC, Commonwealth School, Interamerican U. Rotaract, and the Interact clubs and especially to the San Juan Rotarians who so generously gave their financial support. And let us not forget the Boys and Girls Club of Puerto Rico and our fearless organizer, Sol Bravman!
