Tuesday’s Program
Dear Rotarians, This month has five Tuesdays, and it was agreed by all the members present that on such occasion we would visit a service project or have a fellowship activity. For this reason, on Tuesday, we will meet at Jamón Jamón in Miramar at noon. Parking is available at Pueblo supermarket across the street from the restaurant. We will have the opportunity to meet restaurant owner who will make a presentation. Enid Reyes, our club president, will give more details in her message. Everyone will pay individually for expenses incurred during the luncheon. Come prepare to have a wonderful time. Yours in Rotary, Juanita.
Peace Day recap. At our most recent Zoom business meeting, we caught up on several Club activities and looked ahead to what is coming next. Jorge, Juanita, and Jerry shared highlights from our Peace Day event at Parque Luis Muñoz Rivera, giving us an opportunity to reflect on the Club’s participation in this meaningful day.
Upcoming Boys & Girls Club luncheon. We also began planning our November luncheon. Jorge González will lead this special event, and I will collaborate with him as we develop the plans.
Fifth-Tuesday Lunchtime Social
Because next Tuesday is the fifth Tuesday, we are doing something a little different: gathering for a lunchtime social.
Location: Jamón Jamón Wine & Grill Address: 701 Avenida Juan Ponce De León, San Juan, 00907, Puerto Rico Telephone: 787-946-1777 Parking: Available across the street at Pueblo
Special guest. Owner Sergio Bevilacqua, originally from Argentina, will share his story, introduce the restaurant, and explain how Jamón Jamón came to be.
This gathering will be a welcome opportunity to slow down, enjoy lunch together, and spend time in fellowship. I hope you will join us, and I look forward to seeing everyone there!

Monday, September 21, 2026, thanks to Jorge Gonzalez, Past club president, we celebrated International Peace Day at Muñoz Rivera Park in Puerta de Tierra. We had the opportunity to see the design for the Pablo Casals’ peace monument created by artist and master sculptor Nilda Comas. Lilly Garcia gave a very inspirational message on the topic giving special emphasis to the students present at the activity. There was representation of e-club, Carolina, UN club and Boys and Girls club. Here are some photos taken by DG Gerry Cumpiano and PDG Juanita Valentín Morris. We look forward to seeing the final sculpture in two years’ time.
