“TEATRO POR AMOR” Festival was held on Tuesday evening, May 7, 2019, at the Performing Arts Center in Santurce, PR.  Directed by its producer, Mr. Antonio Morales, four groups of his students presented a sample of their work.  These students representing Loíza, Carolina, Santurce and San Juan offered their best works where they displayed their abilities to dream with a better world.  Our Club sponsored this festival and several members of our club attended the Performing Arts Center showing our support for their work.

Regards,
Pepito

Teatro por Amor

A large group of San Juan Rotarians, family & friends, turned out for the May 7th production of the Festival Teatro Por Amor.  Countless young people took the stage and gave a very professional feel to the artistry created by ANTONIO MORALES, sponsored by the Rotary Club of San Juan with a Global Grant from Rotary International.  The Rene Marques Hall at Bellas Artes, was full to capacity with an appreciative pubic encouraging the youngsters who have been working all year learning about theatre, raising their grades, staying in school and be better members of their communities.
-LAST WEEK-

Guest Speaker, KENNETH McCLINTOCK, ESQ , has served the public as the 22nd Secretary of State, and Co-Chair of Hillary Clinton's National Hispanic Leadership Council, among his amazing record of 39 years of service.  Our speaker shared many thoughts about Puerto Rico, its past, its present and its future.  He cited the overwhelming public reaction to the passing of PDP leader Rafael Hernandez Colon and the neighborliness of residents in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, showed proof that we can come together as a people.  What will candidates in the upcoming election year promise?  And, will they be fulfilled?  We will soon see what the 2020 candidates talk about to create intelligent debate about so many pressing problems confronting our island.  Retired from elected office, Kenneth has been teaching at Interamerican U and continues to graciously respond to our recruiting him for Rotary updates.
