Fellow Rotarians: After the damages caused by hurricane Fiona, we have been receiving messages from Clubs in the US that are willing to provide help. We are coordinating with them and the district in order for the aid to go to does more in need. We have established an emergency fund in the club so all of you that are interested in helping can donate through our club. We are counting on your generosity in this time of need. This week we had a great and interesting presentation by Ms. Agnes Suárez, CPA, and President of AIG Insurance Co. on Asesores Financieros Comunitarios and the great work they perform with the non-for-profit entities in Puerto Rico. The services and education they provide, helps them to achieve a level of safe administration that will allow them pursue and fulfil their mission. We also had with us Ms. Aida Rivera Morales, Executive Director of Asesores Financieros Comunitarios. We had the visit of Ms. Wanda Martinez-Johncox from a Rotary Club in New York who is bringing lots of aid to PR due to the damages caused by Fiona. We also showed are gratitude to Pat Schneider for her 45 years of service to the club as Executive Secretary. Pat has retired from her position, but remails as a member of the Club. Thank You Pat! We are hopeful that by the end of the year, we will be able to finish the upgrade of our technical equipment so we are able to have hybrid meetings. We are in the process of identifying the funds need to purchase the equipment. Again, we call on your generosity and if you are able to donate any amount to the club for this purpose, it is greatly appreciated. Things to remember: - We are looking for volunteers to work in the Youth Avenue. So please contact me if you are interested and:
- Do you have experience with any youth organization? Such as Boy Scouts or the likes.
- Did you receive youth services / youth protection training.
