February is the peace and conflicts resolution month. Conflict and violence displaced more than 68 million people in the past year and half of those are children. Rotary projects provide training that fosters understanding and provide communities with the skills to resolve conflicts. In Rotary we support peace through the Rotarian Action Group for Peace. Rotary members get resources and support to advance world peace and turn ambitious ideas into life-changing realities.
We can promote peace through projects and education. Let’s think how we can contribute to promote peace and spread the word.
JOHN GREW of the Brookline, Massachusetts Rotary Club and President Pepito. John and several of his fellow-Rotarians are on the island to help with our recovery.
WE WERE ALSO VISITED by Dr. Gertrude Edtstadtler-Pietsch, Vice President Elect, of the Calvia International Rotary Club in Mallorca, Spain.
A festive group of Rotarians and their spouses and guests enjoyed San Juan Rotary's Valentine Party. The menu included an appropriate heart-shaped dessert and wine, to add to the occasion. Classical guitarist, JUAN CARLOS GARCIA, provided the musical entertainment. President Pepito's wife, Iris Violeta, presented each woman with a lovely red rose.
