WOMEN IN ROTARY
On Saturday, March 9, District Rotarians celebrated Women in Rotary in the Rio Piedras Rotary Clubhouse.
With 110 attending, the activity was a huge success under the direction of District Governor Juanita Valentín Morris, assisted by PDG Sylvia Maisonet, DGE Marilyn Lopez, DGN Mercedes Peguero and many dedicated women Rotarians, who made the event so memorable.
Also joining in supporting the observance were past district governors and other men in Rotary, including yours truly and my Rotary wife, Iris Violeta.

Regards,
Pepito

Our guest speaker was Jorge Colon Gerena, CEO of Wendco of Puerto Rico, Inc., who currently oversees the operations and management of 78 high-performing restaurants with over $135 million in annual sales and 3,000 employees.  Wendco’ s spectacular growth is a dynamic business story.  Counted among the restaurants are Applebee, Sizzler, Longhorns and the new Red Lobster, among others.  He serves on the boards of many civic and economic entities.  Mr. Colon Gerena has degrees from Interamerican U with advanced studies at Northwestern and Harvard Business School. He gave a fascinating account of his family's business experience over the years.  We were honored to be joined by one of the most impressive young entrepreneurs, executives, and business leaders in Puerto Rico
