This week we are celebrating the Rotary week and our club was well represented at the Plaza Las Américas exhibit sponsored by our D-7000. We were the first to gather along with members from the e-Club PR & Las Américas and Prof. Luis Nieves, her wife FR Marilú and their youngest son (from Río Piedras) to promote Rotary and to show that Rotary Has Heart. Special appreciation for the attendance is extended to our own FR Jerry Cumpiano and FR Bob Bolte. We had three fellowship hours that gave us the opportunity to know each other better and to spread the word about Rotary.
Achieving 100% Attendance in the October-December Quarter were: Ken McGrath, Maria Elena Perez, Luis Ramirez, Jose M.(Pepito) Rivero-Olmedo, Enrique Sigas & Juanita Valentin Morris.
The Reserved 100% Table will be waiting for you as you enjoy a complimentary glass of wine.

The organization that serves to improve the quality of life in poor communities by supporting development in Catano and North Guaynabo, where more than 1,500 families live in poverty, mostly headed by single mothers and/or grandmothers. CARAS and community volunteers have identified education as a key strategy for improving the standards in the neighborhoods served. CARAS coordinates after-school programs, college access programs and leadership development programs for children and adolescents. Puerto Rico's first turnaround charter school will be launched by CARAS in August 2019. The existing secondary school, in the area, is ranked amongst the worst 20 schools in Puerto Rico and significantly impedes students and their communities potential for human development.
