Rescate Playas Borinquen (Rescue Borinquen Beaches) T was the timely topic of our guest speaker, Mario Torres, founder, and President of this community service initiative since July 2013. As Mario stated, the mission is to restore recreational areas and protect nature through physical infrastructure repair and construction, including bridges, walkways, trails, beach access improvement, and signage, among others. The organization has the support of Ramey Job Corps, US Border Patrol Aguadilla Sector, The U of Texas, the US Coast Guard Punta Borinquen, plus18 small & locally owned businesses, to name a few. One could not help but feel the enthusiasm emanating from our young speaker, who was introduced by Past President Frank Earle.
