Dear Rotarians: This week we had a very interesting presentation by FR Adam Nili. Adam is the co-founder and CEO of Methodos Capital LLC, an algorithmic trading and cryptocurrency advisory company. Adam began trading and investing in cryptocurrency in 2014, which led to a multi-year study of markets, trading, and quantitative finance. Adam incorporates data science in C++, Python, R, and Excel to create trading bots which replace human activity in the markets. In April 2022, Adam's company partnered with the Presidential Agency for International Cooperation in Colombia to provide the country's first college curriculum on bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Adam is also involved in investment and education projects in Argentina, Mexico, and El Salvador. Adam presented: "A Simple Introduction to Bitcoin", an accessible introduction to a challenging topic. Announcements: District activities for October: 🗓 15 oct, Leadership Seminar. Virtual 🗓 24 oct, International Day Against Polio. Light up your house/business! Things to remember: - We are hopeful that by the end of the year, we will be able to finish the upgrade of our technical equipment, so we are able to have hybrid meetings. We are in the process of identifying the funds need to purchase the equipment. Again, we call on your generosity and if you are able to donate any amount to the club for this purpose, it is greatly appreciated.
- We have established an emergency fund in the club so all of you that are interested in helping can donate through our club. We are counting on your generosity in this time of need.
- We are looking for volunteers to work in the Youth Avenue. So please contact me if you are interested and:
- Do you have experience with any youth organization? Such as Boy Scouts or the likes.
- Did you receive youth services / youth protection training.
- Like us in Facebook and follow us in Twitter ( @RotaryJuan) and LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/company/san-juan-rotary-club/?viewAsMember=true)
- This year we are committed to increase our membership. We are asking every member to bring two guests to our meetings. Please think who you could bring and invite them!
The Board of Directors and I are counting with all your support and commitment to achieve our goals and take our club into the future. We are still looking for volunteers to join our five committees. Please let me know which one you would like to join. If you have any concerns or issues, please bring them to my attention along with your ideas and recommendations. My phone is 787-525-4544 and my email is maria.rivera@pr.gt.com. Call me to share your concerns and ideas to make the best of our Club. My best to all, Maria
