NEXT WEEK: Our guest speaker will be REAR ADMIRAL PETER J. BROWN, U.S. Coast Guard, President Trump's Special Representative for Puerto Rico's Disaster Recovery at the White House. The title of his talk will be, "Accelerating Recovery Toward a Sustainable Puerto Rico ".
We have one more meeting in our agenda for December with a remarkably interesting speaker on December15.
On that date, our speaker will be Rear Admiral Peter J. Brown, Special Representative for Puerto Rico, Executive Office of the President. The title of his talk is “Accelerating Recovery Toward a Sustainable Puerto Rico”.
We will then take a three-week recess until our meeting on January 12,2021when our speaker will be Dr. Wilfredo Colon- Requejo, our partner in Armand’s Global Grant Project, San Juan/Parkville RC. The project will promote a Culture of Peace in New Generations in the Escuela Asuncion Lugo in the Municipality of Yabucoa.

Introduced by Fellow Rotarian SHARON DURKA, Guest speaker, ABIGAIL STEVENSON, joined the Peace Corps in 2018, after 18 years in NYC. In addition to serving as VP in Private Banking with Credit Suisse, and several years in the media industry, she was a volunteer with the ASPCA, Habitat for Humanity and volunteer dog walking. A member of the Rotary e-Club of District 5010, she now makes her home in Ketchikan, Alaska and is On-Air Host/Producer at KPU TV. Abigail served, from 2018-2020, as an HIV/AIDS Capacity Building Volunteer in Botswana, Africa, an English/Setswana speaking, peaceful upper- and middle-class income nation that boasts the largest concentration of elephants. The President of Botswana requested the help of the Peace Corps with the return of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The mission of the Peace Corps is to promote peace and friendship with three goals:(1) Help the people of interested countries meet their need for trained men and women; (2) Help promote a better understanding of Americans on the part of the people served; (3) Help promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans.
