Now we are back and in full gear lining up excellent speakers and looking forward to the time when all our members are inoculated, and we can move to hybrid in person/ virtual meetings.
There is however a major concern, we continue to lose members at a faster rate than we attract new members. Gerry has volunteered to take on the position of Chair of the Membership Committee, but he needs the help of all of us to both grow membership and encourage more of our active members to participate in our Tuesday meetings. This is a daunting task that no one person can tackle alone. It requires all of us to pitch in. I hope everyone will do just that when he and the committee reach out you.
Dr. Wilfredo Colon Requejo spoke on "The Culture of Peace in New Generations (COPING) Project: Establishing the foundations for the future” Holder of a doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology and a law degree, his dissertation was directed to the development of a program for the prevention of criminal behavior in young people. The program offers psychology and social services to the community provided by mental health professionals. Joining the program was Dalyn Novak, from the Parkville Rotary Club in Kansas City, Missouri, our partner in the project. Thanks to fellow Rotarian, Armand Pique, for arranging for our speaker.
