Hola.
This past Tuesday we had a full house with the visit of our distinguished guest Kimberly Casiano. She is quite the speaker and we heard all of it clearly (maybe because they put us in a smaller room with better acoustics and because Kim's diction is excellent). Her experiences as a member of the board of directors of several companies, such as Ford Motor Company, are well worth listening to. The introduction that Juan Woodruff, her husband, and our club member for 35 years, was very thorough, after all, he knows her better than anyone. Lunch was very good, too. Thank you so much, Juan and Kim, for making the time to be with your club, and for such an enlightening speech. As Puerto Ricans, we are very proud of you, Kim, and wish you the very best to continue representing not only Puerto Ricans but Latino women also and opening doors for them.
We made a collection at the tables for the March of Dimes campaign and collected $215.00. Thanks to all that contributed.
Remember that next Tuesday we will be meeting at Tinto y Blanco.
Then on Saturday November 18th we have the Comparte tu Compra activity. We need volunteers to be there helping collect the food donated by the shoppers at Supermax, De Diego Avenue, Santurce, from 10am to 5 pm. If you have a family or charity that may need the food bags collected, please let us know.
Hope to see you next Tuesday. It is so good to be among friends and do good deeds together. Take care.
Delia
