The Rotary year is quickly coming to an end. We are planning what I hope will be an In Person meeting June 22 when I and the Board will present the state of the cub, reflect on the activities and accomplishments of the club in 2020/2021 and I will recognize a few of the many members that contributed to those accomplishments.
During the meeting of June 28, which again I hope will be In Person, I will pass the gravel to our President for 2021/2022, Tito Colorado and his Board.
That promises to be a wonderful meeting that, I am sure, will attract a robust congregation of our membership.
Introduced by Rotarian Angelique Sina, our speaker, Lcda. Soammy Acevedo, Founder of the Super Heroes Foundation,
for children with special needs who benefit from the unique curriculum offering basic education and literacy. Armed with a Masters in speech language pathology and certifications in autism, hearing loss, and attention deficit disorder, Ms. Acevedo, assisted by Dalma Gonzalez, emphasized how early investment in the lives of disadvantaged children will help reduce inequality in both the short and the long term. A program in Aguadilla with Montessori assistants and professionals in various areas of therapy is on target. One of many goals is to integrate these youngsters with other kids. Volunteers are most welcome. Our speaker can be contacted at: 787-398-0242 & 939-312-9079 or superheroestherapy@gmail.com.
