Our meeting this week was dedicated to administrative issues during an Annual Meeting required by our By-Laws.
The new Board for the year 21/22 was introduced and the incoming President Antonio( Tito) Colorado addressed the members emphasizing the need to grow our membership and asking the help of every member of the club to take part in this important endeavor.
The Board also presented the annual budget approved for the Rotary Year 20/21. The budget anticipates a break-even performance and importantly does not expect any increases in member’s obligations for the club the District or Rotary International.
The Board also presented an update of a wide array of projects that we are working at this time in partnership with clubs from the US, The Rotary Foundation, and local organizations.
I want to thank the Board for their dedicated work and their clear and concise presentations.
PDG & Club Director, José "Pepito" Rivero-Olmedo, reports that boxes of Thanksgiving food are being distributed to Rotary Clubs around the island. The photos show the Arecibo Club receiving theirs, which they will distribute to underprivileged Boys & Girls Club youngsters in their area, thanks to our Club members. This has been San Juan Rotary's signature event for over 30 years. Due to the Pandemic, a beautiful hotel setting is impossible. As an alternative, a traditional Thanksgiving meal will be distributed to 400 families, with enough food to feed a family of four. More on this innovative approach in a Covid-19 setting to follow.
President Frank and Club Directors gave an up-do-date report at last Tuesday's Administrative Meeting.
