Dear Fellow Rotarians,

Given the increasing number of Members that have now been vaccinated, with the approval of the Membership Committee, I am planning with the AFDA club to have our first “In Person “meeting on May 25.

We are planning a happy get together with old friends we have not seen, plenty of comradery and lively conversations without a speaker for this first day back at the club.

Following the 25^th of May, we will take a recess on Tuesday June 1, since everyone will be recovering from the Memorial Day weekend. On Tuesday June 8, our meeting will be with a speaker, Dr. Carl Soderberg, and will be a virtual ZOOM meeting. We will then proceed to have alternating meetings: one In Person followed by one on ZOOM and so on as an experiment to see if that procedure is acceptable to all our members.

I hope to see all of our members for a happy get together May 25, at the AFDA club. in the meantime, we will continue our virtual ZOOM meetings every Tuesday.

Introduced by Past President, Jorge Gonzalez, guest speaker, Mr. Ricardo Arzuaga, Executive Director of the UNA-USA PUERTO RICO, give a fact-filled talk on the UN Unsustainable Goals and how it applies to Puerto Rico. Inspired by the legendary Don Pablo Casals, its many objectives include projects that protect the planet, a Global School Program to reach students, and to coordinate programs and activities in the areas of education and volunteerism. 200 UPR students are involved to create conscience and motivate to find their voice as change-makers in the world. An inspiring program to be sure.
