The Rio Piedras Club has arranged for COVID vaccinations for their members with some space available for Rotary members and their significant other from other clubs who are 65 or older.
Ivette Martin, Assistant Governor for Area 1 sent an email on Monday night to all Rotarians in Area 5. It had a census attached to be completed by those who are interested.
The first date of January 29 is now complete but if you are interested Rio Piedras is hoping to open a second date in February.
Those who are interested should print the census, complete it, and send it to my email fearle@caribe.net and I will forward it to Ivette.
Wade Nomura, well known strategic thinker and innovator, expert in project creation and management was our guest speaker. His wife, Debbie, joined him in his presentation. Within Rotary International, he has conceptualized, assisted, and reviewed over 200 charitable projects across the globe. He came to Puerto Rico as a cadre to assist on the Para la Naturaleza Sustainable Agricultural Grant. Author of the book, Creating Destiny", which emphasizes that adversity and stress make you stronger, comes from personal experiences. Wade also spoke of his hobby, bide racing, where he swept the nationals. Experiencing what you can do to make a lasting change in someone's life is what Rotary means to him. This was a well-received talk from a man who believes that his success is why he wants to GIVE BACK.
